NEGU: FAQs

Tell Me About NEGU?
Here at NEGU we believe that, as teachers, we need to be more creative in our delivery to make learning engaging and fun. We have extremely high success rates in re-engaging young people in education and helping them to aim higher and achieve to their full potential.
Many of our tutors are currently or have been former teachers. In the past year we have worked on numerous different, unique cases of learners struggling to integrate into mainstream school as well as struggling to maintain their educational programme during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our tutors also have an excellent track record of bridging attainment gaps and supporting children in achieving their target exam grades and reaching their full potential.
We aim to connect with our learners and their passions in life, using that to deliver a learning experience completely individual to them. Whether that be gaming, LEGO, gardening, a certain book or TV programme, we focus on getting to know the student and use their interests as a platform to build their education journey on.
What support can be offered for my child?
We cover the core curriculum subjects English, Maths and Science as well as a variety of other subjects including 11+ preparation. Tutoring is provided on a 1:1 or small group basis.

We not only provide tutoring but we also provide the following:

EHCP Consultancy
Family Support Services and Counselling
11+ Mock Examinations
Purchase of practice exam papers
Who is NEGU aimed at?
Pretty much anyone that wants to learn! Whilst a majority of our students are of school age, we also provide a variety of services to adults that includes tutoring, assignment proofreading and counselling sessions.

We are also experienced in working with students of all backgrounds and needs. This includes children with learning difficulties as well as home schooled children.
How do I know if it's helping my child?

During our initial assessment we create an Individual Learning Plan which is reviewed every 6 weeks as part of our attainment tracking process. 6 Weekly Progress Reports as well as individual lesson reports are also sent to parents/carers to keep you updated on your child’s progress. The most important way for us to know if it is helping your child, is if they are enjoying our sessions and look forward to them each week. If they enjoy taking part and working with their tutor they will learn and progress much more.

What is the cost?
Why should I choose NEGU?

We truly care for our students. We place the students at the core of everything we do and believe that, as teachers, we need to be more creative in our delivery to make learning engaging and fun. We have extremely high success rates in re-engaging young people in education and helping them to aim higher and achieve to their full potential.

What tutoring do we offer?

Both online and face to face. Wherever you are we can provide a tutor to your door. Many of our tutors are in the NEGU birth county of Kent, but we work as far and wide as we need to. With tutors that can reach Western Wales, SE London, and as far north as Manchester.

How do you select your tutors?
All of our tutors are passionate about what they do. They thrive on providing an engaging learning experience that will allow children to build confidence, resilience and respect.

Our tutors undergo an extensive identity and safeguarding checks upon recruitment and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate as well as the right skills and expertise to be a NEGU tutor (our standards are pretty high!).
Does NEGU align with the school curriculum and exams?

Of course! We know the curriculum inside out and all our lesson plans factor this in. During planning careful consideration is made to ensure it meets the needs of the child.
